Welcome to Activists Under Fire! This humble project is simply meant to connect activists facing any kind of challenge with supporters. This is especially intended for, but not limited to, political prisoners. Please feel free to create new threads for anyone you want to support. Please try not to duplicate threads.

If this project is successful, it may be spun off to be a proper separate website. Who knows! Maybe we'll have this whole government problem solved before then!

Arizona / Tour Event for 2017

This thread is for organizing the 2017 tour event in Arizona. It should def be in the Phoenix area. Should we start or end with Phoenix? What kind of venue would you like to see?

International Support / Europe Tour May-June 2017

I've got it penciled in. Who wants to help plan it? I'm thinking something like 20 events in 60 days. Maybe a few more if they're within easy driving distance.

We should have several more translations done by then. I've delivered written speeches and answered questions in German. With a little practice, I can do the same in Spanish and French. I'd like to do at least that for this tour. Maybe for other language regions, we should limit ourselves to where English is widely spoken. I'm open to suggestions here, but I'm not that fast a language learner!

To hit the biggest metro areas would be something like this list. Can we get someone to help with an event in any of these cities?

Strategy/Organization/Ideas / Social Media Response Team

I have heard from several potential volunteers that they would like to do the kind of online social media campaigning that people like Clinton pay millions for. I would love to see this come together in a way that brings our talent together to devise effective strategies and ensures our efforts are synergistic, rather than redundant. Wouldn't it be nice if every statist comment on the internet received a rebuttal? Maybe that's an exaggerated fantasy, but the reality we create will blow people away!

Strategy/Organization/Ideas / Media Team

When we start raising serious money, I'd like to hire a "Chief Media Coordinator" for the campaign who could not just do the normal work associated with that position, but also coordinate a team of volunteers who would be willing to help score interviews and media coverage for the campaign. But until then ... anyone want to volunteer? Who is interested in helping? Anyone got any ideas to share about this?

FREEDOM! the book / For Further Reading

Living FREEDOM! / Nonviolent Communication

This is the single most important book you will ever read other than FREEDOM! It will redefine your relationship with yourself and everyone else in your life. I almost put this in the strategy section, because you really can't hope to convince someone else to embrace a different worldview without applying these concepts. You might already be using some of them subconsciously. This puts it all into an easy to use communications formula with wide applicability. I watched the seminar, then had to read the book, which I've read twice. Macey and I watched it together when we started dating and our relationship would not be possible without it. She's read the book twice too now. You're welcome.
