Samuel - Welcome aboard! Would you be willing to share a phone number? As for the CCC, it looks like a great venue, but way bigger than what we'd want obviously and while we could get a small room, I think a small room in a huge space might feel a bit odd and impersonal for this. Also, we'd be unlikely to get it for free!

John - Please ask Paul and Jeff to post whatever they'd like shared here and I'll add them!

Excellent! Can I put you down as state coordinator? You still have my number? Please call me when you have a few minutes to go over things. What do you think would be a good venue for Jackson on September 8th?

NICE! Texas is rocking!

Kimberly - (I had to look up all the Latin. Right on!) It would be best if you represent the County you live in, but it's not necessary. So why Dallas County? For now, the role of County Coordinator is to be a contact for people who are looking to meet someone locally, help organize the closest event on the fall tour, and help recruit other County Coordinators. You can help organize meet ups if you think it would be a good use of your time, either for the county or for some other geographical region. There may be something we want to organize for election day outreach this year. After this year's tour and election, the role will shift to more long term organization building and outreach with the message. I encourage you to sign up as a County Coordinator if no one has yet for your county even if you have no time or inclination to help in this role so we can at least count representation there. If someone comes along who wants to use the title more vigorously, there is no shame in stepping aside at that point. This organization can be as fluid as it needs to be to succeed!

Rick - Great question. I've definitely done the research on this. Right now, I am going to focus on building an organization and spreading the message as an independent candidate who is a lifetime member of the LP. I am prepared to run either independent or LP. By waiting until time to declare for the LP primary, we can have all the benefits of running independent (on the message, on the platform of abolition) and make the strategic decision when we have to. I'll look into Ballotpedia registration. Can I put you down for Henderson County?

Luke - Can I put you down for Howard County Coordinator? What contact info can you share?

Great! Can I put you both down as County Coordinators then? What contact information of yours can you share here?

Which County do you live in? Can we put you down for that and for some role at the state level? What contact information are you willing to share here? Do you want to start a meet up?

Welcome aboard, John! It was great talking to you on the phone just now. Congratulations on being the new State Coordinator. The first two goals of every state organization are to recruit County Coordinators for every county and host successful events for the tour this fall.

Who's ready to help John?

Taylor! Thanks for volunteering. What contact information can we share on the original post here for you? Would you like to start a monthly meet up for your county? We could put the info for that there too. You'd just have to pick an easy time and place the back corner of X bar the first Monday of the month at 6. Even if it starts with just you and one other person, with this message, what do you think you could grow it to in four years? We're planning on October 16, Des Moines, so be sure to mark that on your calendar and be ready to help get noobs there!

Slow poke,

Great to hear! Are you in Jefferson or Adams County? Could I list you as a County Coordinator for whichever County you're in? We have some friends with WAC Colorado who will be helping with the Denver event for the tour. Would you be willing to help promote that when we've got it set up?

FREEDOM! the book / For Further Reading
« on: May 11, 2016, 01:31:48 PM »
After I wrote FREEDOM!, I thought I would write a 20 book series, all in the same format, (100 pages, easy to read, unobjectionable) so that there would be a book for every topic that people wanted to get into further, but realized that work has already been done! If you're looking to get deeper into a topic covered in FREEDOM! please see the table of contents with references and related works for each section below.

Please help me complete this by adding your suggestions below. If I like them, I'll add them to this original post.

[temporary note: I just started this to get the ball rolling, but will come back and flesh out what I can off the top of my head and see if I can recover the old thread like this from the AVTM forums.]

Strategy/Organization/Ideas / Re: Secession through geography

YES! I remember covering that with the whitehouse.gov petitions for secession after Obama was reelected. This is why I think a national campaign can happen to transform the national conversation. The demand is there! There are pockets of freedom all over the US, and I'm helping develop a strong community here in Juniperwood Ranch in Arizona.

One debating strategy that I've found effective...

The best strategy for winning converts requires that we stop debating altogether. If there's a debate, there's a loser. If you're just sharing beautiful ideas, everyone wins.

I know you're on the same page, but I'm not just being pedantic. This mentality is really important to stay consistent with if you want to be effective.

We can totally add one. I had "geek out on tech" section, but decided to nix it. Cryptocurrency would have gone under that. What current forum do you think it could go under? I don't want to add any more sections that would show up on the home page so it stays simple.

Living FREEDOM! / Nonviolent Communication
« on: April 30, 2016, 09:24:41 PM »
This is the single most important book you will ever read other than FREEDOM! It will redefine your relationship with yourself and everyone else in your life. I almost put this in the strategy section, because you really can't hope to convince someone else to embrace a different worldview without applying these concepts. You might already be using some of them subconsciously. This puts it all into an easy to use communications formula with wide applicability. I watched the seminar, then had to read the book, which I've read twice. Macey and I watched it together when we started dating and our relationship would not be possible without it. She's read the book twice too now. You're welcome.

Or you can watch one of the author's seminars on YouTube:
Nonviolent Communication - San Francisco Workshop - Marshall Rosenberg - CNVC.org
The one time I got caught on camera using this technique directly in a confrontation, it got almost 300k views:
